The incredible Christian Bale started out acting in 1986
on several television shows and mini-series like Anastasia and
Heart of the Country. His irresistable charm and talent lead him to snag
roles Newsies (1992) and Swing Kids (1993).
But Bale really made waves by landing a starring role in Steven Spielberg's
Empire of the Sun. Christian gradually moved to supporting roles in
films like Little Women and providing his voice in Disney's Pocahontas.
But things were brewing for this slick, yet modest talent.
In 2000, when American Psycho was released Christian was once again
catapulted into the limelight. His portrayal of a demented socialite really
wowed audiences and critics alike. The funny part of this story is:
Bale is not American or Psycho. He hails from Wales, UK.
But this did not stop Premiere magazine from naming Bale as one of the
hottest leading actors under 30. Entertainment Magazine also named Christian
as one of the Top 8 cult figures of the past decade. I'm still not sure
if this is good or bad...
